Back to Linking Habitat Restoration to Bioenergy and Local Economies

DNR St. Paul Fish Hatchery AMA

Cutting, moving, sorting, staging and utilization of ecologically inappropriate woody plant material to restore 13 acres of upland woodland, 8 acres of loland hardwood forest, 5 acres of emergent marsh. CCM crews were contracted to harvest the woody biomass material that was sold through a separate state bid solicitation for $0 resulting in 6.5 semi-truck loads = 130 tons of material used for bioenergy. $500 from a previous biomass sale helped to pay for this project. This project was accomplished through a state bid solicitation and not a grant agreement.
