Carex Grassland Enhancement

Description

This project is improvement of low-diversity grassland in old fields on the Carex Wildlife Management Area by planting a high-diversity, local-source native seed mix (25 - 50 species). Once the grassland is planted it will be maintained as appropriate by mowing to limit weed competition in the early establishment phase. The project will provide high quality grassland habitats for resident game and nongame species and breeding and migration habitat for migratory birds.
