Green Meadow 26 Forest Habitat

The site is county owned property that has been degraded by invasive plants taking over the site. We will improve habitat by planting 2 acres of oak savannah and establishing 3 acres of native grasses. This site falls within the beach ridge of Lake Agassiz which is a unique landscape feature of Northwest Minnesota, but this area has had a decrease in wildlife habitat for food production, nesting and bedding areas. The site will be cleared and leveled, weed control fabric will be installed, and oak trees and native grasses will be planted to provide both food and habitat cover.
