Mille Lacs WMA Wildlife Openings

Description

There are 45 wildlife openings totaling 80 acres that need to be mowed. Some of these openings were last mowed in the early 2000’s so it has been up to 14+ years since they were last maintained. Because of the time since these were last maintained, many of them have become very brushy and in some cases are returning to young forests. Ideally we would maintain these openings every 5-10 years, but funding has not allowed for that. Maintenance of these openings will involve heavy duty mowing equipment.
