Description


This project will acquire and protect 91 acres in the heart of the Blanding's Turtle habitat in Martin County. It includes the heaviest used wintering area within the wetlands and the primary nesting area on the hillsides. It is the highest priority habitat and nesting area identified by DNR non-game wildlife staff for protection and management. The applicant will reseed with the appropriate short clump type vegetation cover that is needed to provide turtle nesting habitat.
