Swan Lake Tree Removal Project

Description

The management goal for Swan Lake WPA includes the restoration of grassland habitat. Historically, this WPA was predominantly treeless due to landscape scale prairie fires, and thus the goal is to recreate those conditions. The WPA unit currently is infested with undesirable woody vegetation including, but not limited to, green ash, box elder, cottonwood, elm, sumac and other undesirable woody vegetation. This proposed tree removal project will target undesirable trees invading grasslands and wetlands.
