  Spreading DogbaneApocynum androsaemifolium

  Recommended Planting Range

Spreading dogbane is widespread and readily colonizes sunny, grassy areas on a variety of soil types, in mesic to dry conditions. Once established, it can tolerate shade. Its vigorous rhizomes help it grow in tough situations such as on compacted soil, in bluegrass (Poa pratensis) or bromegrass (Bromus inermis) sod, and on gravelly slopes.
